» Idea of Small Space X-Ray Telescope Based on Lobster Eye Optics and Medipix2 Detector
Presentation duration: 10 minutes
Presenter: Vladimir Tichy
Lobster eye represents a X-ray optics of reflexive type providing high efficiency and wide field of view. This optics is suited for example for all-sky X-ray monitor. Medipix2 is a single count pixel detector detecting ionizing radiation of energy above approx. 3keV. This detector has small dimensions and low power consumption. For this reason, this detector is suited for space applications. Idea of the small space X-ray space telescope based on the lobster eye and Medipix2 detector is presented. Problems are discussed. This work has been carried out within Medipix collaboration.
