Astrophysical Aspects of Lobster Eye X-Ray Telescopes
Presentation duration: 20 minutes
Presenter: Vojtech Simon
We show that binary systems which contain a mass-accreting compact object (high- and low-mass X-ray binaries, cataclysmic variables) are promising types of objects in our Galaxy to be detected by Lobster monitor. We review the physical processes which produce X-ray emission and govern the long-term activity in these systems. We also review the space distribution of most X-ray binaries and cataclysmic variables.
