Presentation details

Surface profile correction of replicated X-ray optics through differential deposition

Presentation duration: 20 minutes

Presenter: Kiranmayee Kilaru

The talk will focus on a coating technique developed at MSFC, to correct the surface figure imperfections of reflecting X-ray optics. These imperfections can arise at any stage of development process - from fabrication to mounting, limiting the best possible performance with the optics. Differential deposition can help minimizing the effect of this limitation by reducing the profile deviations along the mirror surface. The implementation of this deposition technique on X-ray mirrors fabricated at MSFC will be discussed in the talk.
