Silicon Drift Detectors for the LOFT mission

Possible application of Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) in LOFT mission will be discussed. Based on experience gained during design, construction and operation of the SDD system for ALICE experiment at CERN we will discuss properties of the detector, operation of large detector system containing SDD and necessary modifications of the ALICE SDD for application in LOFT.
